Porter insisted

I was feeding Porter baby food the other day. He was being such a ham. :) I wanted to try feeding him baby lasagna. He really liked it. Especially after I figured out that he wanted it warmed up a bit. Hey, I am a new mom..... Anyway, he just insisted on feeding himself. I couldn't do anything to get him to eat off the spoon if I were holding it. So, I let him at it. These are the cute pictures I got of him in between me laughing my head off at my little oompa loompa. Needless to say, he really needed a bath.

Camping

We got to camp with the Christensen side of the family this last weekend. It was really fun. I found a place on the Wyoming-Utah border called Bridger Lake. It was a beautiful lake. Lily pads covered most of the lake with tons of fish! It wasn't too long of a drive, about 2 1/2 hours, but turned cold really fast. The warmest I think it was the whole time had to be only 55 or 60 at most. It was super cold. I'm really glad we packed like we were paranoid. :) We got to use our little 4 man blow up boat. That thing is really great! We did some fishing, although it wasn't much because Porter hates fishing. It was like every time we went Porter started yelling something like "Hey fish! My dad is trying to catch and eat you. So run away!" Fishing was impossible with an 8 month old. :) Pat was the only one who caught a fish. He was pretty excited about that. We got to see Moose up close. Male and Female together. It was AWESOME. Slightly scary since they were only like 50 yards close. But really cool! Porter loved to eat dirt, every time I turned around I had to hurry to wipe dirt out of his mouth. We forgot our snuggle. It's like a little strap-on holder for the baby. Made for babies. So we had to make our own. We just put Porter in a backpack that luckily we brought. It was actually really funny. Allot of our time was spent visiting around the campfire because it was so cold. It was a fantastic trip.

We Moved!!

We finally moved into our own place last weekend. We found a little place in Bountiful. We sure love it! It's a duplex with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's so cute! I love that it looks like my own little house. The other duplex is behind us, so it just looks like my house. We take care of the yard too. I can' t tell anyone how much it means to me to have our own place! I love it!!

24th of July

So much has happened in the time that I haven't posted. We had a family reunion with my dad's side of the family on the 24th of July. My brother and his family were able to come visit from New Orleans. It was awesome. They got sealed this trip too!! It was fabulous. They asked me to hold Kairi during the sealing too. Very sweet. I was really glad that they got to come out. I have actually really started bonding with Veancha. I am glad that we are finally starting to become friends. It's really important to me. They family reunion was really fun. Very hot, but super fun. The whole family was there excluding Blaine and his wife and Joe, and Tracy. But it was really fun. We went to a parade, ate tons of food, played in the yard, and just hung out. It's been a tradition for a long time to go on the 24th to Grandma Martindales and sleep outside and wake up to the sirens of the city.

These are pictures from Dave's sealing. It really was an awesome experience. It just made me glad that I didn't have to wait for it. I mean, that I got married in the temple and that porter was already sealed to us. It sure makes me happy to know that we can be together as husband and wife for forever. Plus the kids. :)

Shotgun Shooting

Last Saturday we got to go to the west desert and shoot Josh's shotgun. I had a blast! Although it was freakin hot out!! It was Josh, me, Porter and Josh's little brother Colton. We got a whole box of clay disks as our targets. And yes, we used them all. :) We also got ear muffs for Porters little ears. Adult size. He looked so darn cute!
He was asleep for the first part of the shooting but when he did wake up he liked it. Josh is a really good shot. He saw someone online throw 10 disks into the air and shoot them all before it hit the ground. That is his goal. Although he only got a couple. :) He still had fun and now has something to work on. Colton was obsessed with firing at a tree. Up close and personal. He said that he wanted to shoot it down. Crazy boy! I had an awesome time. I have only shot one other shotgun and a pistol. So this was pretty new for me. I love shooting. Nothing takes away stress like shooting into the open air. Since that is where most of my aims ended up. Our shotgun is a semi automatic. So it gets 5 shots in a row if you want. That was my favorite part. Shooting at a target 5 times in a row. Really super fun day!
