To my Marines

I know the post is a little late but I wanted to give the Marines in my life some respect on Memorial day. I am so proud to be married to a Marine. Once a Marine, always a Marine. Even though he is out of the Corps, I am so proud of him. I love the fact that he was in the Marine Corps for 5 years. I think it takes someone so special to give their time and effort for something that they know might take their life. He was a spectacular Marine. Fulfilling all his duties and more. He served a year in Japan, 3 years in Colorado, and a year in Twenty nine palms, CA. I am so proud to tell people and to know that my husband is such a great person to give of himself so much to join the Marine Corps. He had an honorable discharge as a Sargent in January with 3 years inactive ready reserve.

I don't know much about my father in laws service in the Marine Corps, but I know that he served for 4 years. He was also a Sargent when he was honorably discharged as well.

Being a Marines wife and learning of all the sacrifice and things that go on in the military and what type of amazing people give of themselves makes me feel honored to have close family ties to such a cause. I am so happy to be in this amazing country and give applause to the people who are serving now and in the past and to those who have lost their lives serving us Americans.

Turned down the offer

We put an offer on the Condo and they counter offered us. Then we countered them. Playing the offer game stinks. Well, we finally turned them down. They counter offered the first time with a higher price than the asking price!! So obviously we sent it back. The second counter they gave was only about 500 above the asking price. Who does that?! Puts the asking price for advertisement and to get people there to see it. THEN when they offer, bump up the price. I didn't even know that was legal! So, we are still lookin around for some place to live. It's getting so irritating and almost hard on our relationship to live with parents. I love my rents and so does Josh but I think we just need our own space. :)

Dominic turns 1

Dominic turned 1 year old on April 30. (I know the post is old news, but it's for posterity) We had such a fun party at Jungle Jims in Salt Lake City. It was a fun little place with small amusment rides, and tons of video games.
Brittany did a cute pirate theme and everyone had pirate masks, eye patches and little tresure chests to take home. The tables were decortated so cute and there were balloons everywhere! It was just family and a couple friends who were there. Jasons family, our family, and a few of Brittany's friends and their kids. It was really nice to see everyone. Porter had a good time. When we first got there he just cried and cried. So I took him into the bathroom to see if he needed a diaper change. He just stopped crying. He was just so overwhelmed with the noise and lights, plus everyone saying hi and wanting to hold him. He just needed his mommy to help him get comfortable again.

He was fine after a while. Porter and Josh went on a little airplane ride and the Josh climbed all the way up the jungle jim just to take Porter down the slide. He loved the slide. Just giggled the whole way down. :) They gave Dominic his own little cake with one candle for him to blow out. I love that little kids have no idea how to blow candles out. SO cute! He got a little messy. :)

Porter is growin up

Here are a few pictures that I had taken last week. I love that his personality shows a little bit. He smiles and giggles all the time. He sure does love his mommy and daddy. I am so happy to have him in my life. What a cute little man!

Finally

We have been looking at house after house and decided to look at condos. They are cheaper and a little smaller, BUT we aren't going to be throwing our money away at an apartment. Well, today we are signing the offer on a cute little condo in Salt Lake. I can't wait to get into my own place. Decorate in my way. Have our own space. It will be great. I hope that they take the offer. I will for sure be crossing my fingers for a while.....I love the vinyl lettering and want to do that all over the house. I have a few ideas on what I want on the walls, but I am open to tons of ideas!
